Overview

Lovango Resort & Beach Club is located on a beautiful private island in the USVI and is the latest property for Little Gem Resorts. The resort is looking to hire candidates who are interested in hospitality and have a passion for working with people.

 

The housekeeper position is responsible for cleaning and maintaining rooms, suites, offices, restrooms, as well as indoor and outdoor common areas.  To include but not limited to sweeping/vacuuming, mopping, dusting, polishing, making beds, laundering, and replenishing linens and towels, disinfecting bathrooms, and washing windows. Help in the set up and breakdown of guest rooms at the beginning and end of the season.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain organization in housekeeping containers keep neat and organized to department standards. Keep inventory of supplies and report needs.
  • Clean and service assigned guest rooms and areas in a timely and organized manner according to procedures and standards.
  • Follow all safety and sanitation policies.
  • Report necessary maintenance items.
  • Consistently offers professional, friendly and engaging service.
  • Responds timely to guests’ special requests for miscellaneous items like cribs, extra towels, etc.
  • Assists other associates and departments as necessary or directed to ensure optimum services to guests.
  • Performs additional duties as needed.

Qualifications

  • Some experience at a hotel, resort, or private club preferred. Additional training can be provided. 
  • Have a good work ethic and be helpful to the other team members to get the job done.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule that will include holidays, weekends, and varied shift times.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Able to lift linens and cleaning supplies.
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.
  • Successful applicants will pass pre-employment background check and successfully complete the federally mandated I-9 document from Homeland Security.

Requirements:

  • Communicate well in English.
  • Previous hotel housekeeping experience is preferred.
  • Understand that a bank account is required as payroll is via direct deposit.
  • Ability to commute to/from dock location on STT or STJ.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds or more.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time in various outdoor weather conditions.
  • Must be able to push, pull, bend, reach overhead and below the knees.
  • Must be able to perform repetitive tasks like bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods.

Please note our season is from December through the end of July. All employees must be available for the full season.
